Markus Hanakam and Roswitha Schuller’s current work Interface (2013) stands as a drawing object in a series of drawings, which were created as set elements of their shortfilms. Interface also oscillates between apparatus and graphic surface, which both can be operated and remapped with functions. The work consists of a 10m drawing on a paper roll, a wall fixture and a table segment, which allows a section-by-section “Scanning” of the drawing. In Interface like in many other of their object and film works Hanakam & Schuller use compartmentalized plastic objects, which function as placeholders or tokens for the viewer as well as for the future performer.
